The New Lisbon Memorial Library is looking to identify what event this was held in the library. They are wondering if it was an Easter Tea?  I remember every spring they had a gathering for local school teachers. Not sure if that is what this is or not. If you know, please let me know!

The New Lisbon Memorial Library is looking for your help in identifying the lady in the middle.
I know the lady on the right is Ethel Dowden. Can you identify the lady to the left as well?
Let me know!

Lone Rock School

The long and gradual wave of school consolidation has seen the old-fashioned one-room country schools in Juneau County close. Some have been abandoned and demolished, and others converted to utilitarian use.

History of Evangelical Lutheran Church

1850 — Norwegians began to settle in the vicinity of the Lemonweir River in the present township of Lindina.
1854 — In May written request was made of Pioneer Pastor H. A. Preus that he come once or twice a year for services. On July 25, 1854, under the guidance of Pastor Preus the “The Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Congregation in Lemonweir” was organized. On his first visit he was carried across Brewer’s Creek as there was no bridge. Knud Ormson stayed the night on the opposite side to guard the horses and buggy. From Spring Prairie, Paster H. A. Preus served the congregation for 11 years.
